Modvigil 200 is
used to treat symptoms of excessive sleepiness caused by such conditions as
sleep apnea, narcolepsy, or shift work sleep disorder. It is also prescribed
for all forms of excessive daytime sleepiness where causes can't be identified.
How to take:
Follow your doctor's directions, never take less or more than precribed. Do not
take this medication for longer than prescribed. Modvigil is usually given for
12 weeks or less. The usual prescribed dosage for these disorders is 200 mg
once a day. For conditions other than shift work sleep disorder, Modvigil is
normally taken in one dose in the morning or in two doses in the morning and at
midday. It is not recommended to take Modvigil after noon: taking it during the
later part of the day may cause insomnia at night.
Precautions:
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to Modvigil or armodafinil
(Nuvigil). Tell your doctor if you have chest pains, liver or kidney disorders,
any heart diseases, a history of drug addiction, if you take blood pressure
medication, or if you have recently had a heart attack. This medication impairs
thinking or reactions. If you have to do something which reuires being alert,
be careful to avoid dangerous accidents.
